Exercise Maple Flag is the advanced aerial combat training exercise held annually at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta. Countries including Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Sweden, and Israel have all taken part in this six week exercise in the past. There is a public viewing area located outside the fenced runway where visitors can get a look at military aircraft launching and landing. Viewings occur from 8am-9am, and 12:30pm-1pm, Monday through Friday. The Days Inn Bonnyville is a great accommodation for this event. The Cold Lake Agricultural Society invites visitors to the annual Silver Buckle Stampede at Exhibition Park. Bring the whole family for a great weekend of bareback and saddle bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, and bullriding. Other activities include a pancake breakfast, a parade, popular half-time shoes, live entertainment in the evening, and more!
